Few terror convictions following “911”

February 7, 2006

The Washington Post has this report: Flanked by Attorney General Alberto R. Gonzales, Bush said that “federal terrorism investigations have resulted in charges against more than 400 suspects, and more than half of those charged have been convicted.” …… An analysis of the Justice Department’s own list of terrorism prosecutions by The Washington Post shows that 39 people — not 200, as officials have implied — were convicted of crimes related to terrorism or national security. The Bush regime surely can’t be lying again can they? Well, it wouldn’t be surprising. See all recent “A Logical Voice” posts

CIA didn’t tell FBI about “911” hijackers

February 7, 2006

This report from the Washington Times: The Justice Department’s Office of Inspector General, in the 371-page report, documented “at least five opportunities” for the FBI to have learned about the presence in the U.S. of Khalid al-Mihdhar and Nawaf al-Hazmi “that could have led to an earlier investigation.” The two al Qaeda terrorists helped commandeer American Airlines Flight 77 that crashed into the Pentagon. The unclassified but redacted report also said the “limited information” that was given by the CIA to the FBI never was documented by the bureau or placed in any system from which it could be retrieved by agents investigating terrorist threats. It said FBI supervisors lacked adequate oversight of agents assigned to work with the CIA and failed to give counterterrorism investigations priority. For the record, there have been reports that Khalid al Mihdhar is alive, so couldn’t have been a hijacker. See all recent “A Logical Voice” posts

Rogue elements in the Bush regime complicit in “911”

February 7, 2006

According to this piece, a Newsday reporter has apparently stated that: “….he and his colleagues have received information that a significant number of agents in the FBI, CIA, and other intelligence services are talking about the complicity of rogue elements within the US government in the 9/11 attacks. He is pulling together information to write an article about officials within government who do not believe the government’s official story.” See all recent “A Logical Voice” posts

Mossad agents were on the trail of “911” hijackers

February 7, 2006

From the Sunday Herald: Five Israelis were seen filming as jet liners ploughed into the Twin Towers on September 11, 2001 In the car was $4700 in cash, a couple of foreign passports and a pair of box cutters – the concealed Stanley Knife-type blades used by the 19 hijackers who’d flown jetliners into the World Trade Centre and Pentagon just hours before. There were also fresh pictures of the men standing with the smouldering wreckage of the Twin Towers in the background. One image showed a hand flicking a lighter in front of the devastated buildings, like a fan at a pop concert. The driver of the van then told the arresting officers: “We are Israeli. We are not your problem. Your problems are our problems. The Palestinians are the problem.” …… Vince Cannistraro, former chief of operations for counter-terrorism with the CIA, says the red flag went up among investigators when it was discovered that some of the Israelis’ names were found in a search of the national intelligence database. Cannistraro says many in the US intelligence community believed that some of the Israelis were working for Mossad and there was speculation over whether Urban Moving had been “set up or exploited for the purpose of launching an intelligence operation against radical Islamists”. This makes it clear that there was no suggestion whatsoever from within American intelligence that the Israelis were colluding with the 9/11 hijackers – simply that the possibility remains that they knew the attacks were going to happen, but effectively did nothing to help stop them. Cheney warned of major terrorist attack in the US in 1976

February 7, 2006

In 1976, a US army unit was ordered to find the “perfect terrorist plan“, using commercial airliners as weapons, and the twin towers as their target, as I posted yesterday. But what spurred this particular order? Well, could it be, that in that same year, when Cheney was then the chief of staff, he was issued with a warning that “it is impossible to rule out the possibility of a major terrorist attack in the United States”? Which came first? The order to find the “perfect terrorist plan”, or the warning to Cheney about a “major terrorist attack”? And more to the point, why was nothing done about this at the time? US Army devised a “911” plan in 1976

February 7, 2006

Rense brings us an interested read, about the US army being ordered to find the “perfect terrorist plan” using commercial airliners as weapons, and the twin towers as their target. And this was in 1976: “During the course of the terrorist plan we were devising, I made the statement to Lt. Teague that if the WTC was ever attacked like we planned, I’d go public. I was then physically assaulted and told never to reveal anything we were doing regarding the Twin Towers.” However, about a week later a strange turn of events occurred. For no apparent reason, McNiven claims his superiors completely changed their minds. “I was given the direct order that if the Twin Towers were ever attacked the way we discussed in the 1976 study, I was to do everything in my power to bring the similarities to the attention of the American people. “I have no idea why they changed their minds, but I was then emphatically told that this order was never to be rescinded – never – because those who would rescind it, would be the very same people who turned against the American people.” See all recent “A Logical Voice” posts

Media ignores “911” questions

February 7, 2006

As this writer states, Americans should be angry: Media ignore 9/11 questions Now we are hearing about another piece of the commission’s report that states that there were 52 warnings to the FAA before 9/11 that terrorists were going to use planes to attack the U.S. Why aren’t Americans outraged about this? What this means is that the president and his important cabinet members knew we were going to be attacked and did nothing. Is that what a president does to protect the American people? Why has the media downplayed this report? In addition, why was this report released three months after the election and appointment of Condoleezza Rice? Who as National Security Advisor, most assuredly, was given this information.

Bush regime hid “911” warnings until after election

February 7, 2006

It shouldn’t really come as any surprise to most, to know that the regime in Washington used the events of the 11th September 2001 to their own advantage as much as possible in the run up to the 2004 US presidential election, and hid all the warnings received from the public in the full knowledge that they had allowed those events to happen:

What we don’t know about 9/11 hurts us Bush administration hid 2001 terror warnings until after 2004 election
